Another great soccer season for ALEXA and Coach Gordon! Go Dynamos!

WOW!  All I can say is WOW...and that I am super proud of Alexa (and Gordon) for another amazing soccer season.  The Dynamos are unstoppable!  With Alexa dominating the field (she is only 6) and her Dad as the head coach, how could they not be unbelievable!  Yes, I'm biased, but I am also factual ;)

Alexa is the fastest runner and can think strategy offense & defense while playing the game...she figured this out on her own!  She scored in every single game, and she is 6!  Her Dad commands and earns respect from all the players and the girls listen.  We are so fortunate to have amazing parents that also want to see their girls succeed!

The Dynamos are outstanding and I can't wait to see what the Falls season has in store for us.  We are a tight team with a bright future!

Kirsten lands her aerial!!

Super proud parent moment for us!!  Kirsten has been working so hard on her aerial (no handed cartwheel) this year and we were able to see it in-person!  I am reluctant to have her practice at home,  since we don't have gymnastic mats, so to see it live was amazing.  Both Gordon and I got emotional when we saw her not only do it once, but twice in a row!

New Bikes!

The girls were overdue for new bicycles, so we splurged and got them new bikes!  Kirsten went with a 7-speed sporty one and Alexa selected a traditional girly bike with streamers.  They've been all around the neighborhood, cycling away!

Annual Girls Trip!

This year we went to Nashville, Tennessee!!!  Another amazing trip with my best friends for over 20 years now.  Gosh how I love you Tiffany and Danielle!

Recognizing Recognition

It's been a few years since I can say that I've been personally recognized for achievement in my workplace.  As my career progressed, I slide way from the front-line sales to the chief of staff for my Division.  Progress, yes!  But with less recognition ;)
So, I think 2018 is my year!  Why?  Because the Lord has blessed me with two HUGE recognitions, honors, awards...just this year.

The first honor was an all-expense paid trip for Gordon and I to go to Orlando, specifically, a trip to Disneyworld!  To get this award, it is by nomination only!!  What an honor to be honored.

The second award was for my involvement with the Central Iowa Diversity & Inclusion committee.  I  am passionate about having courageous conversations when it come to D & I.  That along with putting on an event with 800 people for Diversity & Inclusion in Charlotte, also helped :)

Easter 2018

It was a chilly Easter Day this year, but that didn't stop the girls from enjoying their egg hunt!  Church services were fantastic and the girls had a little performance at the beginning, it was super cute!  Then we had an amazing brunch with our best friends Adam, Kristin, their boys, and Kristin's parents at Glen Oak Country Club.  Aside from the cold weather, it was a great Easter!

Spring Break 2018

Spring Break this year was a stay-cation for the Guthrie Family, but we did a lot of stuff in a short amount of time!  Shopping, going to the arcade, bowling, wearing our matching converse shoes, eating out for dinner, building forts on the covered deck, sending emails (Alexa!), enjoying St. Patrick's Day, and snowboarding for the boys... phew!  We did a lot!!

2nd Annual Guthrie Family Ski Trip!

What a fantastic family winter vacation!!  We had yummy home cooked breakfasts, roller coasters, no lines, Rainforest Cafe, jaguars, elephants, souvenir glasses, log rides (x2), snacks, card games, snow tubing, wood fires, races, watching hockey, Uno, great food...and sleeping in a barn that was converted into a gorgeous home. And, Snowboarding/Skiing. Yay!!!!
We love this annual winter family vacation and look forward to it every year!
