Coach Guthrie! Go Dynamos Soccer!!!

Gordon is a great soccer player and has been sitting on the sidelines watching Alexa play for the past two seasons.  However, this year he got into the action and started coaching the girl's team himself!  Alexa is such a talented soccer player that it worked out beautifully for Gordon to coach her.  Go Dynamos!

Drake's 12th Birthday!

12 years old already?!?!  We celebrated Drake's birthday with arcade games and lazor tag, it was a lot of fun!  Nana also made a delicious Reese's Peanut Butter cake that was SO good.  I can't believe next year Drake will be a teenager!!

Thanksgiving

We had another wonderful Thanksgiving spending time with Gordon's parents.  We cooked, baked, and played lots of games...including a family favorite, Twister!

Slumber Party

The girls had their first friend (Avery) spend the night and they had so much fun!  This wasn't Avery's first time spending the night, since the first time was for Kirsten's 7th birthday.  We took them to 7 Stone for pizza then back home for some Girl Fun!

Kirsten's 8th Birthday!

Kirsten loves crafting, so for her 8th birthday she wanted to have a craft party a Micheal's!  It was loads of fun for her and her friends...and we didn't have to worry about the clean-up afterwards.  :)  Kirsten is growing into such a lovely young lady.  I can't believe she is 8 years old already, I keep telling her to slow down on the growing-up, but she isn't listening to me!

Getting ready for Halloween

From carving pumpkins to wrapping ourselves up like a Mummy, we had a lot of fun getting ready for Halloween.  For starters, Gordon, Drake and I went to the girls school to help out during their Harvest Parties.  There was costumes, candy, and...wrapping ourselves up like a Mummy!  Then we headed to Mickey's for dinner and a little pumpkin craving.  I thought they turned out great!  Then we headed home to complete a Halloween themed puzzle.

Family Fun in the Fall

It was a cold blustery day in Iowa, but that didn't stop us from conquering a Corn Maze!!  We all got bundled up and headed out into the country for a little fun.  The Corn Maze was awesome!  Drake would have kept going after an hour, but we couldn't feel our fingers and toes, so we had to call it quits.  We also got to experience jumping into a HUGE pile of hay.  We will definitely be back next year, but let's hope for warmer weather!

School Photos!

WOW!  I know I'm biased, but these pictures turned out great.  Drake is growing up to be such a handsome young man and the girls are pretty little ladies.  I love them all so much.  Why won't they stay young just a little bit longer?

Girl's Trip to Iowa!

After 10 years in Iowa, two of my best girlfriends came to visit!  I have been dreaming about this visit for YEARS, from where we would eat to what we would do, and it all came together for an amazing girls' trip.  Only one friend wasn't able to make it, but I haven't given up hope!
Tiffany came in on Thursday and we enjoyed a 'day in the life of Amy'.  We picked the girls up from school, watched Alexa play soccer, and ate at our family's favorite restaurant, Mickey's. On Friday, Tiffany and I walked around the East Village and did a little shopping.  That evening Danielle arrived and we had a great dinner at Eatery A, then headed home to get cozy and enjoy the fireplace while chatting the night away!  On Saturday, we went to a cooking class and my Iowa bestie, Kristin, met us there for a little fun while improving our culinary skills.  That afternoon, we were relaxing on the outside covered deck, listening to the rain pouring down, and the house was struck be lightening!  That was a CRAZY, yet memorable experience!!  On Saturday night we got dressed up and went to dinner at Roca, then went to Hush for dancing...so much fun!!!  Our trip came to an end on Sunday, as the girls went back home, but not before a yummy brunch at Republic.  I love these girls so much and I can't wait for them to come back to visit again!
