Easter 2017! He is Risen!

Easter Sunday was a beautiful day and we had an amazing time celebrating Him!  The magic is still alive at the Guthries, as the girls saw the Easter Bunny had arrived with baskets and eggs hidden all around the exterior of the house.  We had a beautiful service at church, then enjoyed a yummy brunch with the Sieren Family at the Club.

 

Sunday Funday

Easter Sunday was a beautiful day.  We spent most of the afternoon outside enjoying the sun, gardening, jump roping, doing cartwheels, and learning how to ride a bike without training wheels!!

** Update:  BOTH girls learned how to ride without training wheels on Easter Sunday!!  **

 

I'm so blessed

Kirsten came home with treasures she made for me at school.  These gifts she created make me feel so special.  It wasn't my birthday, Christmas, or even Mother's Day--they were made "just because" she loves me.  I feel so fortunate to have such a kind spirited, thoughtful, and overall wonderful little girl.  I will never stop loving YOU Kirsten!

St. Patrick's Day Photos

How did I forget to post these awesome photos of Gordon in his kilt for St. Patty's Day?!  He looks so handsome in his Guthrie Family tartan, and it's official--everything purchased from Scotland when Gordon's Mom visited the country several years ago!

Spring Break "Anytime Plans"

The Guthrie Family didn't go anywhere for Spring Break this year so the girls decided to make a list of "anytime plans" and the best part about it, they did it all on their own!  We didn't ask them to make the list, nor did we help with any of the suggestions.  It was a proud moment for Gordon and me as we read through the list and embraced that we are raising children that don't need to be "entertained".  Some of my favorites include:  Buy clothes for our Build a Bear, eat cupcakes, play school, hang out with our Mom & Dad, take a nap, and do math.  And...at the end of the week, the girls successfully crossed off almost ALL of the items!!

Family Ski/Ride Trip in Afton Alps!

The Guthrie Family took a sking/riding trip to Afton Alps in Minnesota.   It was an amazing time!  Definitely a trip we will take again.  We stayed in a beautifully decorated barn that was converted into a two-bedroom house with a full kitchen.  We thought we were staying at a Fixer Upper with JoAnna Gains!  On the same property was a tree house with a full kitchen, family room, bedrooms, bath...wow!  The whole family loved this very unique property.   Better yet?  The ski hill was only 15 minutes away.  YAY!  The girls tried skiing for the first time and Drake snowboarded.  All the kids took 1/2 day lessons while Gordon and I went snowboarding.  That afternoon we met back up with the kids so they could show us everything they learned!  The girls did an amazing job learning this new sport, we were SO proud of them.  Drake also picked up a few things and I was impressed!   This was such a FUN family vacation with tons of memories (spelling bee challenge, anyone??)!

While playing in the snow, we tried to get a family 'selfie' photo but Alexa wouldn't give us a smile.  She was being SO silly.  We couldn't help but laugh when looking in the camera!!
