Lovely Minocqua

I love visiting Gordon's hometown, not only because we get to see his wonderful parents, but it is one of the most beautiful towns I've ever visited.  These pictures don't do it justice!  We took the kids to a restaurant right next to the lake and Kirsten was in awe--she pointed to every boat that went by and loved dipping her toes in the water, as did Alexa!  What is especially neat, boats can pull right up to the dock, get gas and some lunch, then head back out onto the water... without leaving their boat!  The kids loved climbing in this giant lawn chair so we had to snap some photos.  :)

Happy Father's Day

We celebrated Father's Day this year in Minocqua, WI with Gordon's parents.  Everyone had a great time!  We went bike riding, went out on the boat, exchanged presents, and shared many smiles and laughs.  The bicycles were a special surprise from Jackie and Steve... our birthday gifts!

Drake graduates from Kindergarten

Drake is growing up so fast... too fast!  He graduated from Kindergarten this year and is off to 1st grade in the Fall.  As you can see from the photos, he is silly as ever and SO smart!  We bought him two Dr. Seuss special edition books and he started reading them immediately, we are so proud of him!

Sunday at the Park

We took the girls to the park and had a great time!
I was able to get a few photos... gosh, they are growing up so fast.  Sniff, sniff

Memorial Day Weekend -- couples trip!

Gordon, Amy , Betsy, Chad, Jeff & Heather

Gordon and I had our first couples trip over Memorial Day weekend in Kansas City.  Even though it was with a heavy heart we had to leave our little ones behind, we had a great time with everyone (Chad & Betsy, Jeff & Heather) from the start to the finish!  The first day we spent at a Dayclub Pool on the rooftop of one of the buildings downtown.  We enjoyed it in style with a cabana and bottle service.  The fun didn't stop there as we made our way to the Power & Light District, where Betsy and I rode a mechanical bull!  The next day we went shopping at the Plaza--loved every minute!

Gordon's Birthday 6/1/12

We celebrated Gordon's 34th birthday at our local favorite, Mickey's Irish Pub in Waukee!  We love Mickey's because the kids can be squirrels and no one seems to mind.  It is loud enough, plus you can toss peanut shells onto the floor... so we don't worry if a little baby food happens to fall on the ground too!  I brought balloons and table decorations and the owner stopped by to ask if it was one of our kids birthdays, I immediately told him "no, it's my husband's" with a smile.  The kids did love the balloons though.  :)
We were joined by our friends and everyone had a great time!
Next up... my 21st birthday!!  he he
