Viva Las Vegas!

Photos from our wedding in Door County, Wisconsin are coming soon but I was downloading the pictures from our camera this evening and I couldn't help from commenting on these 2 photos!!

First is a picture of my wonderful in-laws (handsome couple, huh?). Let's just say that I figured out where Gordon gets his playful side from... Jackie (Gordon's Mom) and I were talking while following the boys through the Bellagio in Las Vegas. All of a sudden, we see Steve (Gordon's Dad) bolt ahead of us in the crowd and start laughing sheepishly. Well... :) in the background of this photo is a walkway with water jets arching over it. Gordon wondered out loud about what would happen if he put his finger over one of the jets. Upon his son's "suggestion", Steve proceeded to stick his finger over the jet which resulted in soaking 2-3 people walking through the tunnel...whoops! What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, right?!

OK picture #2--this is a great story! This was Jackie's first trip to Las Vegas and Steve's 1st since he was 11 years old (so needless to say a lot has changed). After visiting the Bellagio and having tons of fun, we decided to take a walk along the strip and venture into Caesar's Palace. Gordon and I thought it would be nice to show his parents where I worked retail throughout high school and college, so a tour of the Forum Shops ensued... this led us in front of Casa Fuente, a family owned cigar bar. Jackie pointed it out to Steve and they acknowledged it's quaintness. Gordon and I were walking ahead while they soaked in all the scenery, and as they were hurrying to catch up with us a production crew stopped Jackie and asked if she and Steve were interested in appearing on the Travel Channel! They explained it was a 6 part series to air in November based around Las Vegas, entitled Vegas Revolution. Casa Fuente was one of the locations the Travel Channel was featuring and they said they would love to have Jackie and Steve be a part of the shoot. His parents mentioned they were with another couple (Gordon and me) and the Travel Channel was thrilled to know another couple could participate. Initially, Steve wasn't too happy about the proposal, but after they offered FREE cocktails and FREE cigars, he said ok! I'll send out another blog as we get more details about the airing date!
